The combat design felt simple and engaging without feeling stale, and I am a personal fan of one-difficulty method as it makes me feel confident that the game is perfectly designed with intent. The soundtrack was masterfully done and had all the flavor that comes with Weird Sci-Fi cinema like Arrival. The level design was really well crafted, I was constantly awestruck at how well the team took urban offices and pushed their architecture into something that shaped the mood perfectly. The story was great up until its abrupt end. What started out as a really strong thiller/horror that had me hooked into the story, slowly eroded over time into a Weird Sci-Fi that I wasn't unsatisfied with but wasn't expecting.

What I tried Control out during its free release on PS+ and after playing through about 80% of it's content I think I'm finished with it. I tried Control out during its free release on PS+ and after playing through about 80% of it's content I think I'm finished with it.

However it's still a must-play and serves as an amazing origin for the Remedy-verse. Overall Control is a glitch-filled masterpiece which could have been a 10/10 if it was well optimized and had an ending that was a tiny bit better. The devs have added an invincibility mode you can use which is nice if you get very frustrated but it doesn't compensate a poorly made difficulty system.

Jesse usually dies in about 3-4 hits which is very punishing considering how many tough enemies you usually end up facing at once. Control has a serious difficulty problem. Constant texture pop-ins are also a problem. This usually happens when **** is going down and tends to take you out of the game.

Control runs very poorly at times on a PS4 slim, with FPS drops that are as bad as 5-10 fps.

Casper Darling makes up for all of them and has turned into one of my all time favorite fictional characters ever - The game has a well structured trophy list Cons: - Bugs, bugs, bugs and more bugs. The game's use of architecture and colors combined with it's supernatural setting provide for some of the best levels I've played this year - While not all of the characters are as memorable as they should be, Dr. The universe it shares with Alan Wake seems very promising - Quite visually impressive. By the end you are essentially playing as Jean Grey with guns. While the main story itself may not be groundbreaking, you always want to learn more about the FBC and their history - The Oldest House is an incredible setting that oozes style and diverse environments - Gameplay feels nice and tight and the abilities Jesse (the protagonist) has give it a great sense of verticallity.
